Pastors weekly digest

AS WE COME TO THE LAST SUNDAY OF THE SECOND QUARTER FOR THE YEAR 2009, IT IS ONCE MORE THE TIME OF REFLECTING AND REJOICING IN THE LORD FOR HE HAS SHOWN "HIS MARVELOUS KINDNESS IN A STRONG CITY" PSALM 31:21 BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, TO PRAY.

The America we know today has become a strong city for most people. Jobs are lost, road and homes have become unsafe, economic tumult pervades every fabric of societal atmosphere, families are disintegrating, relationships are broken, death of the highly and the lowly has become a weekly announcement, churches are dwindling; indeed until Jesus comes, the country no longer expects better days ahead. What remains for every believer to hold on to, is prayer. We are living again in the days of king solomon that prompted the wisdom king to write that "Consider the work of God for who can make straight what he has made croooked?" In the days of prosperity, be joyful, but in the days of adversity consider: surely God has appointed the one as well as the other; so that man can find out nothing that will come after him; I have seen everythng in my days of vanity, There is a just man who perishes in his righteousness, And there is a wicked man who prolongs life in this wickedness; Do not be overly righteous nor be overly wicked nor be foolish, why should you die before your time? It is good that you grasp this, and also not remove your hand from the other, for he who fears God will escape them all. Wisdom strengthens the wise more then ten rulers of the city" Eccl. 7: 13-19. The key message of King Solomon here is found in verse 18; We are not to remove our hands from the other hands in prayer, because the catastrophic situation in the country is affecting the Church of Christ, those who truly serve God sincerely with all their hearts and soul, are those who are doing their service unto God without consideration of peculiary benefit and who have not lifted their soul unto an idol, not sworn deceitfully, (Ps 24:3). It is therefore conscious of this situation in this country, coupled with how it has affected us as a church spiritually, physically and most importantly, financially, that I am calling on a seven days prayer to begin on Monday June 29, and end on Sunday July 5, 2009. I seek for every one to join me and let us pray. This is the acceptable time for prayer: Remember, "If my peple that are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn form their wicked ways. Then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and heal their land" IIchr. 7: 14. So says the Lord.

BE A PART OF THE PRAYERS.
