The Shinning Star That Never Disappoints!!!

A fig tree and the good vinedresser!!!

Are you a fig tree in a vineyard?, Do you find yourself displaced in the world?,  Do you find that there is something about you that does not fit in or is not better prepared or suited for the environment that you have been placed in?. This parable is taking from the book of Luke 13:6-9.  you can also see similar situations, that bring a better picture into the true nature of this story in Matt 21:18-19, and Mark 11:13-14. The story starts of with the owner of a vineyard.  He plants a fig tree in the middle of a vineyard.  A vineyard is really wine country, its a place where plenty of grapes are produced and turned into wine for drinking purposes.

A fig tree is known for its fruit too as well, it is a seasonal plant that only brings its fruit in its own season.  Fig trees are a food or fruit plant.  According to a online source fig plants to the mediterranean people are one of the most usefull plants to ever be cultivated, they provide shade in hot seasons, do not require that much water to grow it.  The owner of the vineyard plants this fig tree in the middle of the vineyard hoping perharps to feed on it as well as use the wine that he will gather from the vineyard as a drink source.  He goes into his vineyard and seeks for fruit from the fig tree that he had planted and finds that the fig plant had produced nothing for him to eat.  This story is almost similar to the other parable in which Jesus finds a fig tree with no fruit in it and curses it because he was hungry.  Unlike that story Jesus opens the door for the vineyard dresser to respond to the situation.  The owner of the vineyard says to the vinedresser someone he had employed to cater to the vineyard as well as whatever else he had planted on the vineyard in vs.7 "Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground"?.

Quite similar to the same response that Jesus gave to a unresponsive fig tree which was supposed to have borne fruit out of its season.  The vine dresser however appeals to the Lord and said in vs.8 Let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it, in vs.9 And if it bear fruit, well and if it not, then after that thou shall cut it down."  The owner of the vineyard did not respond.  From this story one can see a delay in something that could have been fatal for a plant that was grown obviously in a situation that it was not suited for.  This story shows the ability of a believer to intercede on behalf of another believer and when he does God hears and becomes empathetic to a situation.

I want to ask you(our readers) a question, what is your job in the household of God today?. The fruits of the spirit are supposed to be found in us as believers of christ at all times.  The fruits of the spirit can be seen in Gal 5:22-26.  If a person is not practicing these attributes they are not showing fruit and example of ways which we can sin against God and be cursed is seen in Gal 5:19-21. We must prove ourselves worthy of Gods love and intervention or else we will become cursed.  Are you the type of person who sees destruction and allows it, or are you the type of person who seeks for a way to help your fellow man.  We are vinedressers and fig tree saviours.  In the book of 2nd chronicles 7:14. " If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land".

God wants us to pray for one another, he wants us to be humble as vine dressers.  We are not owners therefore we need not curse,  for we cannot curse anyone whom God has blessed.  My appeal to you then is seek to be a vinedresser that is not only humble, but seeks the face of God for himself and for others.  He is an intercessor he seeks a way to save those that need to be saved.  Vine dressers make things beautiful.  Can you see Jesus as all those things He curses but he also blesses and he calls us to bless those that need our help irregardless of thier circumstance.  He is God, we are gods.  He is the almighty father that is capable of saving his people.  Be a vinedresser today, be a blessing to someone it does not matter thier circumstance. Without christ we could have been destroyed if not for his intercession.  He covers us and makes us presentable to God.  May God help us to make others more presentable to God in and out of our season so that when he comes he may harvest us, in Jesus name amen.
